Science Games

First off let me say that I don’t homeschooI. I do believe that kids retain more of what they learn when they have fun doing it. What is the best way to achieve this? I believe it is through educational boardgames. I want to know what you think. Computers can’t take over everything, I hope. I go to WalMart and they still have a boardgame section, so someone is buying these products. What they have very little of is educational games, though. This is why I was thinking about starting a website geared towards nothing but educational games and learning toys. This is a business that I can be proud to own and it wouldn’t embarrass my mother (she watches me). What I do not want to do is invest my start-up capital in an industry that has a scary prognosis. I believe I’d succeed, though because I love the product. This may not pay the overhead, however. Please lend me some advice. If enough people want it, I will do it. I’ll have games that you can’t find anywhere else and no Monopoly. Thanks

just want to find games to teach my kid different things to learn

do you as parents buy educational board games for your kids? if you do are they something that you have a dificult time finding?

I vaguely remember many years ago playing Go to the Head of the Class. Is that geared to only little kids? I’d prefer board games, but other ones are ok, too.

We jus got a computer, and I’m wondering if anyone knows of any websites for kids games. My kids are 6-8 years old, and if they are educational games would be a plus.

living in china, so web sites would be much help. need games that will entertain kids as well as teach them english. Any help would be much appreciated

I have a group of immigrant high school kids who we are teaching English as a second language as well as incorporation into North American culture.
One theme is cultrure clash, I was wondering if anyone knew any fun games to play that exemplify this.
Also, any movie or show that exemplifies this in a poignant way?

I would like to create centers in classroom and have kids play them.ANy suggestions on where i can find them,what could be good board games, and how about teacher discounts or hey even for free.It can even be a strategy game dealing with buliding.But it must involve groups.

In a couple of weeks I have to do some Science stuff at a local Primary school, involving the 5 senses. I need some fun, easy and, most importantly, educational games / experiments to try. These should last no longer than 10 mins each, but can be short and simple too! Thanks!! xx
